Clip-in human hair extensions are a popular, temporary method of hair extension that allows you to add length, volume, or color to your natural hair without the commitment associated with some permanent hair extension methods. These extensions are made with our raw Indian hair collection, which gives you a more natural look and feel, and they come attached to small clips that can be easily secured to your own hair.

Key Features of Clip-in Indian Hair Extensions:

  • Natural Appearance: Because they're made from real Indian human hair, clip-in extensions blend seamlessly with your own hair, making them look and feel natural.
  • Versatility in Styling: Human hair extensions can be styled just like your natural hair. You can wash, blow-dry, straighten, curl, and even dye them to match your hairstyle preference.
  • Ease of Use: One of the main advantages of clip-in extensions is their ease of application and removal. You can clip them in and take them out whenever you like, without needing to visit a professional.
  • No Long-Term Commitment: Unlike other hair extension methods (like sew-ins, tape-ins, or glue-ins), clip-ins can be removed at the end of the day or for specific occasions, making them a great non-permanent option.
  • Cost-Effective: Because they don’t require professional fitting and can be reused multiple times, clip-in human hair extensions are often more budget-friendly in the long run compared to permanent extensions that require regular salon visits for maintenance.

How to Use Clip-in Human Hair Extensions:

  1. Section Your Hair: Start by creating a horizontal part across your scalp about an inch from the nape of your neck. Secure the top section of your hair with a clip or hair tie.
  2. Prepare the Extensions: Detangle the clip-in extensions with a wide-tooth comb or brush starting from the ends and working your way up to the roots.
  3. Attach the Extensions: Open the clips on the extension weft. Align the weft with the part in your hair and slide the clips into your natural hair, close to the roots. Snap the clips closed to secure the weft in place.
  4. Blend with Natural Hair: Release the hair you secured away and let it fall over the top of the extension to blend. You may need to style your hair and the extensions together (by curling, straightening, etc.) to create a seamless look.
  5. Repeat: Continue sectioning your hair, attaching the extensions, and blending, moving up your head until you achieve the desired volume and length.

Care and Maintenance:

To ensure your clip-in human hair extensions last as long as possible, proper care is crucial:

  • Gentle Washing: Use a sulfate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner. Wash them gently every 2-3 wears or when there's significant product build-up.  We recommend allowing the hair to air dry with no styling products for best results.
  • Styling Tools: Use little styling products, some lightweight oil or lightweight hair spray when necessary, keeping the hair nice and flowy.  Avoid excessive heat and styling when possible to preserve the integrity of the hair.
  • Storage: Always ensure the clip-ins are clean and completely dry before storing.  Store the extensions in a cool, dry place. A silk or satin bag is ideal to prevent tangling and keep them in good condition between wears, or hang them on a clip hanger. This helps maintain their shape and prevents tangling.

Choosing high-quality clip-in human hair extensions and following these care guidelines can enhance your hairstyle's versatility and beauty, giving you confidence and allowing for easy style changes.

1. Washing Human Hair Clip-ins:

  • Detangle: Before washing, gently detangle the clip-ins using a wide-tooth comb or a brush specifically designed for extensions.
  • Lukewarm Water: Always use lukewarm water. Hot water can strip the hair of essential oils and cause damage.
  • Mild Shampoo: Use a sulfate-free shampoo to keep the hair soft and prevent drying out.
  • Conditioning: After rinsing out the shampoo, apply a light conditioner to keep the hair moisturized.
  • Rinse: Rinse out the conditioner thoroughly to prevent any build-up.
  • Drying: Do not wring the hair. Instead, gently pat with a towel to remove excess water and allow the extensions to air dry. If you're in a hurry, you can use a hair dryer on a low heat setting.

2. Using the Clip-ins:

  • Start by brushing and styling your natural hair.
  • Section your hair, starting from the nape of your neck. The sectioning depends on the number of clips and their width.
  • Open the clips and place them close to the roots of the sectioned hair. Press down to snap them in place.
  • Continue sectioning and attaching until all clip-ins are in place.
  • Blend the extensions with your natural hair by brushing them together and styling as needed.

3. General Maintenance:

  • Don’t sleep, swim, or shower with your clip-ins in. This can lead to tangling and damage.
  • Gently brush them out after each use to prevent any knots or tangles from forming.
  • It's advisable to wash your clip-ins every 2-3 wears or when there is a build-up of product.

Remember, human hair clip-ins can be treated similarly to your natural hair, but it's essential to handle them with care since they don't receive natural oils from the scalp. Regular maintenance will ensure your clip-ins remain in the best condition for years.

  1. Straight

    • Indian Straight: Often a finer texture, Indian straight is a common texture among the people of India.
  2. Wavy

    • Body Wave: Loose and gentle waves that offer a slight curve and give the hair some volume and body.
    • Deep Wave: Deeper, more defined waves compared to body wave.
    • Loose Wave: Similar to body wave but with a bit more curl.
    • Natural Wave: The natural wave pattern that some individuals have. It's neither too straight nor too curly.
  3. Curly

    • Loose Curl: A relaxed curl pattern which is in between wavy and tight curly.
    • Deep Curl: Tighter curls that are more defined and closer together.
    • Kinky Curl: This texture mimics Afro-textured hair that has tight curls. It's often used by individuals with type 4 hair.
    • Spiral Curl: Resembles ringlets or corkscrew curls. They're very defined and springy.
  4. Kinky

    • Kinky Straight: This texture is similar to natural Afro-textured hair that has been blow-dried straight. It offers some volume and thickness but doesn't have a sleek, smooth appearance.
    • Kinky Curly: This mimics the coarseness of Afro-textured hair. It's perfect for individuals with type 4 hair who want to add length or volume.

When choosing hair extensions, it's important to match the texture to your natural hair for the most seamless and realistic look. However, many people also opt for textures that are different from their natural hair for a varied look. For instance, someone with straight hair might choose curly extensions for a temporary change.

Also, note that the actual texture can vary slightly based on the origin of the hair (e.g., North India, South India) and the processing it has undergone. Human hair extensions tend to be more versatile in terms of styling, as they can be dyed, heated, and treated due to its natural raw state.

Bedtime Tips

  1. Brush Before Bed: Gently brush your hair extensions with a paddle brush or a wide-tooth comb before going to bed to remove any tangles and prevent matting.  Brush or comb starting at the very ends of the hair up to the weft.  (Curly hair extensions this is only necessary on wash day.)

  2. Braid Your Hair: Loosely braid your hair or twist for waves, kinky curls put it in a loose ponytail to prevent tangling and matting while you sleep. This is particularly important for longer extensions.

  3. Use a Silk or Satin Pillowcase: Silk or satin pillowcases are smoother for the hair cuticles than cotton and can help reduce friction, which causes less tangling and matting of your hair extensions.

  4. Avoid Sleeping with Wet Hair Extensions: Going to bed with wet hair extensions can lead to tangles and matting. Ensure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed.

  5. Consider a Nightcap or Hair Wrap: Wearing a silk or satin nightcap or wrapping your hair can also protect your extensions from tangling and friction damage.
